District) Public Societies Registration Act 2001 (Regd. No: 54/2007 dt: 26th Oct 2007). With primary aim of empowering, enabling and entrusting all the visually handicapped persons living in the vicinity of Hyderabad district of Telangana, Spoorthi Jyothi strives ring the right based society


Spoorthi Jyothi Foundation recognizes the right of persons with disability to an adequate standard of living for themselves and their families. With the objectives of bringing the disabled persons at par with the able-bodied persons, to empower all the visually handicapped girls and boys through the means of higher education ,training in computer skills and by training in livelihood skills to increase their earning capacities and to work towards inclusion with a barrier free space for the blind in the society.


NEED

Is now running hostels for girls and boys who are enrolled for their In our Telangana State for the visually challenged girls from 15 to 25 years hailing from very poor backward families studying intermediate and degree only two government run hostels are there.

This lone government hostel with a limited capacity caters for the entire State. As a result, several visually challenged girls students applications are rejected.

Such rejected applicants find themselves compelled to terminate their dreams of continuing education beyond school and are thus forced stay at home with little or no prospects for making a livelihood or career. To avoid this SPOORTHI was born.


What we do

With a journey of 10 years down the lane Spoorthi Jyothi Foundation Junior and Degree collages.

As part of development Spoorthi is providing audio cassettes of lessons to students appearing for their board exams. Vocational training, personality developments program, conducting spoken English classes is part of the other activities


IMPACT

The journey has enabled the visually impaired members (32) to secure government jobs as Junior Assistant and Attendee’s with a five figure pay packet. The Director Ms Jyothi has been awarded as the Young Achievers by the Vandhe Mataram Foundation, Hyderabad for year 2013. And Sai Seva Rathna Award in 2014, Best NGO Award from Government Disabled Department in 2016.

The ongoing computer training institute with the help of JAWS the screen reader software along with KURZWEIL book reader software is helping the educational needs of the students. Developing self / Home Management Skills
